Following Jesus means becoming more and more like Him. That's easy to say.
But what does that mean?
After His resurrection from the dead, Jesus gave His followers this command: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28.19-20) In other words, following Jesus (being a disciple) means being baptized, obeying the teachings of Jesus (such as loving God and loving others), and making more followers of King Jesus.
At Arise, everything we do is intended to help you be a follower of Jesus who makes followers of Jesus who make followers of Jesus. Whether you’re new to faith or a long-time believer, our job is to “to equip [you] for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4.12-13)

Mentors are people who walk beside us, instructing and counseling us through the ups and downs of life. They’re voices who pour into our lives when we need wisdom. They’re consistent relationships who help show us the way. They’re those who, in the words of Proverbs 27.17, help us sharpen one another. If you want to learn more about connecting with a mentor, sign up below. You’ll be glad that you did.
We’re always looking for experienced individuals to serve as mentors. Contact Pastor Jacob at email@example.com if you’re interested in learning more about being an Arise mentor.
AriseU Workshops are in-person training and equipping events. These workshops typically focus on an aspect of biblical discipleship, including marriage, parenting, finances, prayer, technology, scripture reading, sexuality, and more.
